Vanessa Favors has over 30 years of patternmaking and sewing experience. She taught traditional and CAD patternmaking classes at Bauder College as well as textile science and fashion illustration. She established VRO Engineered Designs in 1991 and continues her passion for fashion working for private clients as well as larger companies.
She worked for Carter's as manager of technical support managing one of the most successful sample rooms in the country.
After retiring, she continued to expand and develop her company.
Mrs. Favors is an instructor that takes great pleasure in teaching others what she loves:
sewing, patternmaking, knitting and fiber arts.
She has a true passion for fashion design and has been doing it since childhood.
Her father was a tailor, and her mother, grandmother and great-aunt were all seamstresses and fiber artists.
With a combination of old and new, she brings the time-tested traditional methods with the digital age to the student.
