Patternmaking 101
$400
This is a traditional, flat patternmaking class that uses measurements, proportions, rulers and templates to draft a blueprint of the female body. This blueprint is used to create a 9-piece, basic block set which is also used to derive other patterns. The student will learn point-to-point and proportional drafting techniques as well as garnering an understanding of sizes that may not follow ASTM charts.
After taking this class, the student will be able to derive basic custom patterns with less fitting issues. It also begins to introduce and help the student understand the process of translating traditional, hardcopy patternmaking techniques to a digital/CAD environment.
